NISD trustees continue filling campus personnel vacancies By Dave Kucifer Examiner Publisher

The Board of Trustees of the Navasota Independent School District moved closer to filling all vacancies at last week's regular board meeting.

Heading the list was Rory Gesch, hired as assistant school superintendent replacing Jennings Teel, who was named superintendent earlier this year. Gesch has 14 years of experience and comes to Navasota from the central office administration of the Stamford ISD.

Joining Gesch in administrative positions were William Russell, junior high assistant principal, and Cory Bukley, high school assistant principal.

In addition to the three administrators, the board also approved contracts for 11 new teachers.

Those hired include Aman-da Alexander, high school Spanish; Cynthia Welch, special education, LSSP; Dennis Underwood, junior high shop; Morgan Hayes, intermediate school music; Felicia Creeks, Webb Elementary kindergarten; LaShandra Fry, Webb Elementary first grade; Amy Keally, Webb Elementary second grade; Carmen Martin-dale, high school art; Carolyn Button, high school English, and Jonathan Pozzi, high school math. Linda Huching-son's status as a special education, LSSP instructor was changed to part-time.

Trustees accepted the resignations of Terri Brent, special education, at-risk counselor; Laura Purcell, primary school music; Samantha Yosko, primary school reading; Holly Weatherwax, junior high math, and Debby Ross, high school counselor.
