Trooper arrests man who fled from scene of shooting

BY SUMMER HAUSMANN, Staff writer

Early Monday morning, around 1:30 a.m. a call came in to the Grimes County Sheriff's Office from a woman on S.H. 90, just north of Anderson, about a male subject who had cut off the power to her home and was shooting at her house and vehicle, according to sheriff's office officials.

Investigator Jimmy Armatys said it is still unknown why he was shooting at the complainant's house and vehicle.

Armatys said the alleged shooter, identified as 35-year-old Bryan Aubrey Estes of Tomball, left the scene and headed back towards Tomball, when he was stopped by Trooper Richard Cook.

Estes was arrested for driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance, for which he is being held on a $4,500 bond.

Other charges include attempted burglary of a habitation with intent to commit aggravated assault and deadly conduct.
