The city of Navasota will present the sixth annual “Home for the Holidays” event beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9.

Downtown Navasota will be transformed into a winter wonderland full of family activities. Take a spin on the “ice-skating” rink located near city hall, ride a toboggan down the inflatable hill or get lost in the snow maze. The family activities are free and will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The area merchants will be open and waiting for Christmas shoppers throughout the day. Drop packages off at the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce for free gift wrapping between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Jolly Old Saint Nick will be taking pictures from 3 to 5 p.m. in the city hall lobby, before he leads the lighted Christmas parade down Washington Ave.

The entire community is invited to city hall following the parade to light the community Christmas tree provided by A-C Tree Farm in Huntsville and sing Christmas carols.

For more information on the event or to participate in the parade, please call 936-825-6475
