Navasota appoints board and commission members

The Navasota City Council appointed new members to the volunteer boards and commissions at the Oct. 28 meeting. Each member appointed serves for a term of two years, assisting the council with recommendations on various city projects.

“The City of Navasota is very grateful to have had a record number of applicants for this appointment period and looks forward to their active involvement in tending to the community’s needs,” Marketing and Communications Director Corey Johnson said.

New and current board and commission members include the following: Economic Development Corporation - Bert Miller, Kathy Prescott, Gerald Purcell, Mike Harris, Bonnie Armstrong, Jennifer Fultz and Grant Holt; Planning and Zoning Commission - Kathleen Terrell, Malcolm Green, Earl LaFontaine, Judy Moore, Danny Clark, Patty Tokoly and Dia Copeland; Board of Adjustment - James Hammie, Steve Tokoly, Priscilla Mata, Dell Martinez, Tim Meadows, Gary Dycus – Alternate, Debbie Hancock – Alternate, Taylor Perry – Alternate and Frank Garcia – Alternate; Parks and Recreation Board - Betsy Lehnert, Derek Bowman, Mellisa Meyers, Michael Harris, Venita Lowery, Mark Sechelski and Julian Melchor; Airport Advisory Committee - Ken Statham, Mac Vaughn, William Nichols, Todd Matthews, Steve Austin, Joe King Fultz and Dr. Mark Lennox; Keep Navasota Beautiful Commission - Naomi Wallace, Eula Hendricks, Scott McDonald, Layla Perez, Maribel Perez, Frank Perez, Jim Nelms, Cissy Smith, Connie Clements and Linda Wilkerson; Library Advisory Board - Jo Crawford, Lila Steen, Dave Kucifer, Pam Finke, Maggie Rico Lira, Cissy Smith and Wilbert Sargent; and Navasota Housing Authority - Lillie Mae Pratt, Kristie Jones, Richard Grimes, Mac Vaughn and Bill Miller.
