It was a great first day of spring 2015, although it was foggy and raining. The bluebonnets in Mother’s yard had been blooming since December, the redbud trees were beautifully scattered around in the yard and the dogwood trees had opened their petals the day before. It was as if they were opening for the first day of spring so God could call her home. With heavy hearts we said, “See you later,” to the most wonderful lady in the world who was our mother, grandmother, aunt, friend or whoever she was to each of us. She is in the gardens of Heaven with our daddies, Ernest and Jack, her parents and brothers and sisters. God blessed Mother, but most of all we were blessed by her being with us for over 89 years. Many tears fell from the sky when our other precious loved ones went to be with the Lord and again the tears from Heaven poured down as Mother left us. We will always remember how the frown on her face changed to such a look of peace. She will be missed and every spring as the flowers bloom we will know that each one is for our Mother.
