A number of Navasota High School volleyball players have received postseason honors.

Senior Kaylei Mallard, a four-year letter winner, and junior Madison Daley were named to the all-district 20-4A first team for a second consecutive year.

Daley, who will be a returning starter, got hurt against Smithville. She missed the next match, the Class 4A Region III bi-district playoff loss to Liberty Hill, which gave the Lady Rattlers a final record of 20-14.

"She is a good setter and hitter," head coach Alicia Ellis said. "She will be one of the top hitters next year."

Seniors Samantha Harris and Brennan Swarts were cited on the second team, their first time being recognized.

"Brennan Swarts is the player you can put anywhere," Ellis said, "and she will bust her butt to get the job done."

Even more players were acknowledged for their excellence in the classroom. Mallard, Daley, Swarts, Keā€™Aundra Eddings, Kindell Jones and Kiana McWilliams were named academic all-district.
