It has been somewhat of a slow week for me. My week began Saturday with a District VFW meeting at the Conroe VFW Post. The four of us who attended had a good time. I appreciate all the friends I have made during my time with the VFW Auxiliary. The kindness shown to me makes me strive even harder to be a good and effective president for the Grimes County Post 4006 Auxiliary.

I’m a stuffed turkey that’s for sure. We celebrated Thanksgiving three times this week once at the Sheriff’s Office, on Thanksgiving Day in Dobbin at my Uncle Darrell Herzog’s house, then at our home Saturday for the Sowell family. Now it’s time to prepare for Christmas.

The final day for COVID-19 testing at the Bedias Civic Center is Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointment is needed for the cheek-swab test. You are requested to stay in your car for the drive thru testing and bring photo ID.
