A mobile mammogram bus will be available at Navasota Public Library July 12, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The Breast Cancer Screening and Prevention Center at Texas Southern University, tsu.edu, in partnership with The Rose, therose.org, will offer free mammograms. Insurance is not required. Read moreBoys Scout Troop 361 hosted a game design and leather craft day May 13, for its members. Navasota Police Officer, Kyle Fritz, and his Dungeons and Dragons Crew members led the game which allowed scouts to work on focused behavior, cooperate with players of all ages and skill sets, practice problem-solving skills, taking leadership roles, practicing risk assessment and applying math and science knowledge. Abigail Mahan helped the scouts design their own leather dice trays they could use in future D&D game quests. They learned to cut leather squares, apply fasteners, use basic leather tools including a hole punch, mallets, grommet application tools and a heat press.

Navasota ISD Board of Trustee Member Position 5, Amy Jarvis was sworn-in for another term during the May 15 board meeting. Jarvis defeated Gremillion in the May 6 election. Tim Harris ran unopposed for place 4 but was unable to attend the meeting. He will be sworn-in in June.

Navasota Mayor Bert Miller presents Grant Holt with a blanket during a special meeting May 15, commemorating his 16 years serving the City of Navasota as a councilmember. Holt, who served from 2007-2023, decided to not seek another term in the May 6 election.
