Southern Charm, located at the corner of Railroad Street and McAlpine, is in what has been coined the «Railroad District» of Navasota. Owner Tanya Ingram described her mission to provide quality boutique items along with fabulous hair. Staff and suppliers were introduced to the crowd at the grand opening. Read moreThe Grimes County Commissioners Court held a Regular Meeting Thursday, March 3, and approved a Resolution opposing HB 749 and SB 234 which, if passed would prohibit counties, school districts and municipalities from having a voice on legislation impacting those governmental entities. The motion was made by Commissioner Barbara Walker and seconded by County Judge Joe Fauth. The bill as written restricts use of taxpayer funds for lobbying activities.

Read moreDemi Harrington, a sophomore at Navasota High School and member of Navasota ISD FFA, won the 2021 Santa Gertrudis Open Grand Champion and National Champion Best of Polled female showing her Urbanosky’s Lagertha 870. Harrington made her mark with Lagertha in 2020 winning the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, San Antonio Livestock Show and the Santa Gertrudis International Show at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo all in the same year. In Dec. 2020, Lagertha was named Miss World 2020 for the Santa Gertrudis Breed. Adding a National Champion female and National Champion Best of Polled female to the list. Harrington is the daughter of Cole and Cristi Harrington and granddaughter of Jerome and Jane Urbanosky and JimBoy and Michele Harrington.
