BELLVILLE - The No. 21 Navasota Lady Rattlers remain within striking distance of the top spot in district 25-4A with a 56-33 win at Bellville.Navasota (25-4, 5-1) had a huge performance from junior guard Brianna Stokes with 24 points and five steals. Senior Nala Richardson followed with 12 points and nine rebounds.Lady Rattler JV bested the Lady Brahmas 45-13 to remain undefeated (6-0) in district. Navasota traveled to Needville Jan. 17 (results were not available at press time). The Lady Rattlers host No. 21 Royal Jan. 20 and travel to Wharton Jan. 24.

Montgomery capitalized on a handball call converting the penalty kick for an early 1-0 lead. With only a few minutes remaining in the game, the Lady Rattlers attacked. Jocelyn Santoy crossed a defender and kicked across the goal setting up Yesenia Gomez for the tie. The Lady Bears advanced to the championship game winning the penalty kick shootout 3-1.
