2023 is tough to keep straight

It has been somewhat of a quiet week, but I didn’t say it wasn’t busy. Recall on my car, oil change, inspection, tags and taxes all hit at one time. Then my little buddy is sick again and I know that happens when children are around other children. There are more forms of illness than when I was growing up. I missed all my school days in first grade, then had perfect attendance the remaining 11 years. Things sure have changed, and Clorox wipes were not even invented way back then.

Basketball for Bree hasn’t been very good. Friday they were neck and neck with Burton, took the lead, but then they lost. They did the same thing in Iola Tuesday. Hopefully they will do better on their second game this week. Fizzle, that’s the word; they fizzle out! She managed to limit her fouls to 3 and I am happy to report that there were no technical fouls. I was able to see the new couple in the family, too.

Yoga for a Cause is Saturday, Jan. 28, at Salem Lutheran Church beginning at 11 a.m. Jolleen Christians is the instructor and any donations will be given to White Hall Community VFD. The public is welcomed to join in the fun.

The annual fundraiser for the White Hall Taxpayers Association is April 22, at Salem Lutheran. More information to be released later.

If you like to laugh, joke or just be silly, please visit the Sonshine Sisters of Salem Lutheran. We play dominoes and have the most wonderful time of fellowship. I was not in the best of attitude this morning, but after spending just a few minutes with this group of ladies, that attitude changed quickly. Anyone is welcomed to join our fun.

Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Auxiliary met off-site Thursday for their monthly business meeting. We are preparing for the election of new officers, Memorial Day, fundraiser after July 1. We had a very informative meeting. I want to thank those who were able to come to the meeting and join in the planning.
