A fire was reported by residents this week off CR 232 affecting 19 acres

Greg Riley reported he sighted a coral snake this week in Richards. Rick Gremillion commented that he had never seen a coral snake till he moved to Richards and has since killed two in his yard.

Lee and I visited friends out of Richards off 149. We were leaving and heading to the car and a copperhead was by the gate we were exiting. Luckily their dog saw it before the snake saw us. My cats have killed two snakes on my porch. Snakes are out there so beware and be safe.

Lastly, Lee and I were sitting in the house talking and I looked outside toward the chicken house which had two downed trees from the spring storm. The trunks had a big hole in the center. As I looked, I saw something red and asked Lee what it could be. I decided to go outdoors and see. It looked like the comb on a rooster but was much too big. As I approached it, I found beautiful flowers. Not just any flowers these were my birthday flowers. You see my mother has been gone 24 years now and every birthday she would bring me these red flower lilies out of her yard. If I wasn’t home, she would leave them on my table. These flowers always bloom on my birthday. She called them my birthday flowers. The last birthday I spent with momma was a very special one. Momma had the table set nicely for her and I with these flowers. I miss Momma so much. The first birthday I had after she passed away a friend came by to see me. I was so sad that day. We drove over to a cabin we have in the National Forest. When we got to the cabin there were my birthday flowers blooming. They just surprise me and pop up in different places. They remind me of momma. I was not expecting them when I went outside because my birthday is in a few days. It was the most beautiful sight. Even a florist couldn’t capture this much beauty. I went back in the house with tears in my eyes. Lee asked me if I found out what it was. I told him it was my birthday flowers momma sent. You see God sent me these special flowers, but I know they were a special delivery from Momma.
