Food Pantry sees record attendance

Evergreen Baptist Church celebrated Thanksgiving at the church Sunday, Nov. 20. Guest speaker was Brother Mike Satterfield. He has a tremendous passion for God’s people, and a contagious spirit of generosity that flows through every facet of his ministry. His message was enjoyed by all present. Approximately 97 attended the service including several visitors. Following the service, a meal was served in the fellowship hall. 

 

The Keith Civic Club fundraiser was held Saturday, Nov. 19, at Aurora’s store and gas station on Highway 30. In spite of the rain, it was a very successful day. A good amount of money was raised for the new roof. If you still wish to donate to this project, send contributions to Keith Civic Club, P.O. Box 71, Iola, TX. 77861. Any assistance is appreciated. There was no service at Evergreen Baptist Church Wednesday, Nov. 23, so everyone could spend Thanksgiving with their families. Services resume this Wednesday, Nov. 30.

 

Fellowship Baptist Church of Carlos enjoyed their Thanksgiving celebration Sunday, Nov. 13. A good time was enjoyed by all. 

 

There was record attendance at Iola Food Pantry, held at the Iola Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Saturday, Nov. 19. Approximately 90 people or family groups showed up to receive food, and for many it was their first time. Turkeys and other goods were distributed. The pantry is open the third Saturday of the month from 9-11 a.m.

 

In last week’s news there was an account of the death of Millard D.C. Wiley 3rd, who passed away Nov. 3. He was a resident of Keith. His funeral was in Henderson Nov. 20. His remains were entrusted to Garmon Funeral Home. Do remember his parents, children and other family members in your prayers. 

 

There were a good number of people that showed up to Evergreen Baptist Church Tuesday, Nov. 22 to help decorate for Christmas. Much work was finished, and the church fellowship hall was decorated. Following the work, a late meal was served to all the workers. Everything looks really good.

Do hope your special day was a happy one.

 

Happy anniversary to Bradley William and Morgan Leigh Trant Prihoda, married Dec. 1, 2007. Join me in wishing them many more years of happiness together.
