On Saturday, July 2, Don and I, as well as his sister Denise Shead and her husband Joe, made a trip to Waxahachie to visit our uncle and aunt Harry and Flo Brennen. Some years back these two resided on Hill St. in Anderson and were very involved volunteers at Fanthorp Inn. When they moved away, I really missed Uncle Harry because he was my “Mr. Fix-it” man. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Wednesday, June 29, was the 75th wedding anniversary of this sweet couple. How amazing is that? It’s one for the record books for sure! The chances of both spouses still living and married to the same person for 75 years is truly slim to none. This month Aunt Flo will turn 95 and in September Uncle Harry will turn 94. Uncle Harry still zips his car around town as if he was in his 30’s. We surely miss both of them around here and just have to zip up I-45 periodically for a visit. Congratulations to this very special couple who we are so proud of.

Speaking of being proud, our 8-year-old grandson Luke Waitz served as an altar server for his first time at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plantersville Sunday, July 3. Luke is the son of Dave and Brandi Waitz and the big brother of Colton. This past month has been exciting for their whole family as they moved into their new home off of CR 208 after living in our home on Hill St. for the past 3 years. So, as they are finishing their move out of that house, our baby daughter Ashleigh and husband Tanner Krause and son Case are preparing to move in. Whew!

Each year I run Babusha’s Porch at the St. Stanislaus Church Bazaar. I have several ladies who do some canning of jellies and vegetables to sell in the booth. These ladies need jelly jars for their finished products. I don’t need jars of all kinds, just the jelly jars. These jars have gotten expensive so if you have some lying around or packed in a box out in your garage and don’t need them, give me a call, 936- 870-6842. I would appreciate it very much.
