Plantersville News

Attention Blackberry community: I was informed by Grimes County road and bridge engineer Harry Walker that the contract for the 2016 General Land Office (GLO) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) was received and signed by county judge Joe Fauth III. There will be a kickoff meeting in a couple of weeks.

I have been working on having improved roads in our community since I moved back home in 1996 and I was determined to get our roads up to standards. I have spoken with many judges, Pct 2 commissioners and attended commissioners court many times. I was told by many that it was a lost cause and we would never improve the roads in our community. I chose not to give up because I was taught as a child “can’t” isn’t an acceptable word. Perry Ealim told me he would assist in the project. There were many obstacles along the way, but I knew God was up to something when I couldn’t attend commissioners court on a regular basis. God has shown our community favor and He is still answering prayers.
