Life is a roller coaster. There will always be ups and downs. Exciting times, fun times, and then there are those times that are not so much fun. Everyone experiences it differently. Thoughts go back to a time I must have been in or around junior high and a friend of a friend named Cathy got on the roller coaster and wanted to ride it by herself. She rode it alone and was one of the few that did. As we stood and watched everyone screaming and hollering as they passed by on the roller coaster, Cathy could not be seen on the roller coaster. When it came to a stop. They found her passed out on the floor of the roller coaster.
Life is a lot like that. We all experience a different ride, up and down, maybe a fun ride, exciting ride, good ride or maybe we just pass out or wish we would have. I apologize for not sending the news last week. I guess you might say we have been experiencing a lot of roller coaster rides lately. One thing is for certain, God is in the driver seat no matter what the situation. As we place our trust in him, it doesn’t matter how many ups and downs we might face, we can rest assure we are in the very best hands.
A Huntsville ISD School bus carrying Huntsville JV players to Montgomery rolled over on FM 1791 near 149 in the RIchards Oct. 10. No serious injuries were reported but at least one mother stated her child would not be able to play the rest of the season. Keep all these young people and the bus driver in your prayers.
The RIchards 4 H will meet the first Monday of each month, 7 p.m. at 6897 FM 149 E in Anderson. The next Richards 4 H meeting will be held Nov. 4.
Just a reminder to mark your calendars for the Richards Volunteer Fire Department’s 28th Barbecue Fund-raiser and Gun Raffle set for Saturday, Nov. 2. Plates are $12. An auction will be held and there will be a bounce house for the little ones. Come out and support the RVFD.
A Veteran’s Day Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Nov.
9. They are looking for groups to participate. Come out and be a part of this great parade. We need to support and come out and make this day special for the Veterans that are our heroes.
Deepest sympathy to the family of Edward F Pasket. Edward passed away Oct. 18, at the age of 90. He was a retired cotton harvester and farmer well-known in the Brazos Valley and the Rio Grande Valley. Funeral Services are being held in Anderson at St. Stanislaus Tuesday. Please keep his family in your prayers.
On Saturday we said goodbye to a dear sweet lady. My mother-in-law, Juanita Igo, passed away at the age of 89, at her West Texas home surrounded by her loving family. She was survived by three children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She loved gardening and had the most beautiful flower and fruit garden in town. She was so sad that she was no longer able to work in her garden. We find peace in knowing that she won’t suffer and has gone home where she can work in the most beautiful gardens ever.
Prayers for Tere Phelps, Family of Marie Tomkavits, Family of Cecil Schroeder, and the Family of Edward Pasket, and others who have lost loved ones.
