The monthly meeting of the Keith Civic Club was held at the Keith Community Center Thursday, May 26, with a fair number attending. The meeting began with a covered dish meal that was enjoyed by all. There were two guest speakers, Mark Boehnke, the chief appraiser of Grimes County and Shannon Sanders, the assistant chief appraiser. They spoke about county taxes and how things are appraised. It was also announced Iola 4-H painted the Keith helipad which is located across from Keith Community Center. The work is appreciated. Also, a new bid for a roof at the center which needs to be replaced was received. The amount is $12,900. Any donations for or toward that amount would certainly be appreciated.
