VFD's need rehab supplies

Grimes County True Blue Foundation needs silent and live auction donations for their annual banquet Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Grimes County Fairgrounds. All proceeds from the banquet helps to provide equipment to local law enforcement officers in which department budgets lack funding for. Torian Fair participated in a four day, 4-H Mock Legislature Congress in Austin. She assumed the roles of a Legislature, Lobbyists, etc. to experience how the process works. Sincere Banner and Torian Fair also attended a Leadership Lab. Congratulations to all who attended this special educational session.

Grimes County come out and help us celebrate Macedonia Baptist Church, 6957 CR 206, Plantersville in the Blackberry Community. The Homecoming and Dedication Service is Sunday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. We are celebrating all of God’s Blessings of restoration and showing all Homecomers near and far the goodness of God. The Place of Grace, 8658 CR 313, Plantersville in the Blackberry Community is hosting a men’s conference Sept. 23-24 at 7 p.m. and Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. with Jay Duane Driver of Fresh Fire Minis-tries in Houston as the speaker.

Todd Mission VFD Rehab is currently reaching out to the public for donation assistance. Due to the extreme heat and the high call volume firefighters have faced, resources are exhausting quickly. Items needed include: Gatorade or electrolyte drinks, jerky, peanut butter or cheese crackers, granola bars, fruit juice/ cups, paper goods etc. Contact Lynn Lord, 936-203-6770 for more information. You my drop off donations in-person at the department during Wednesday night meetings at 7 p.m.
