I hope everyone enjoyed the Veterans Day holiday. Happy Veterans Day to all.

Plantersville Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 5. Plantersville-Stoneham VFD will have a float in the parade. After the parade Santa will be at the fire station giving toys to all children up to 12 years of age. Social distancing will be in place. Come out and enjoy.

The election is over but the controversy of it hasn’t changed. The chaos of it all is playing out in front of our children and grandchildren with the whole world watching. I pray someone soon will stand up and get this chaos and controversy under control. It’s really embarrassing.

The Grimes County 4-H Club Food Challenge Chopped contest is Saturday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. at the Grimes County Fairgrounds, 5220 FM 3455 in Navasota. There is a $25 fee per team. Charm & Sewing 4-H Club registration deadline for the food contest is Thursday, Nov. 19.

Charm and Sewing 4-H Club will meet 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Greater 1st Baptist Church Cafeteria, 904 West Johnson Ave. in Anderson. Community Service Projects: bring cereal, package of socks, toys and pajamas to the meeting. Hygiene baggies for the homeless: please put shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste and toothbrush in a quart size bag.

Charm and Sewing 4-H Club is sponsoring several drives ahead of the holiday season. The Sock Drive is Nov. 1 through Dec. 14 and benefits senior citizens of Grimes County. Help someone keep warm and dry with a pair of socks. Call Nehemiah Banner, 979-422-5381 to arrange drop-off or email, homeschooling.is.love@gmail.com. You may also drop off donations to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office in Grimes County, 203 Veterans Memorial in Navasota.

The Cereal Drive is ongoing and will be donated at the KBTX Media Food for Families Food Drive Wednesday, Dec. 2. Arrange to drop off non-perishable cereal, grits, oatmeal and rice by calling Sincere Banner, 979-422- 5381 or email, homeschooling.is.love@gmail.com.

A Quilt Afghans and Blanket Drive began Oct. 1 and continues through Jan. 24, 2021. Help share the warmth by donating new or gently used Blankets, Quilts and Afghans. Call Audrie Busa or Cindy Gardovsky, 979-777-0856 for more information.

The Toy Drive began Nov. 1 and continues till Dec. 18. This Christmas season share your generosity with families in need. Please donate a new or gently used unwrapped toy suitable for a girl or boy ages 3 months to 17 years. The Place of Grace Church on CR 313 in the Blackberry Community will have a pre-Thanksgiving gathering Sunday, Nov. 22, at 3:30 p.m. Please come out for worship, prayer, fellowship and food. Everyone is invited to attend.

Plantersville - Stoneham Bunch Youth Support Group invites everyone to their 20 Guns for 20 Bucks Fundraiser Thursday, November 19 at Grimes County Expo Center Navasota. All proceeds benefit the youth of Grimes County. The admission is $20, doors open at 6 p.m. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and tickets can be bought from DP Water Company, A & I Water Well Services and Dianne Phillip’s, CPA which all are located in Plantersville.
