There are always funny stories about doctors and patients. Well, my orthopedic surgeon told my daughters that he finally got to listen to music while he fixed my knee because I was not talking. Really? Yes, I finally had the surgery and getting old is not for sissies. Thanks to all the people who called and checked on me, sent cards, came to visit and brought food. Each of you made me feel special. Thank you again.
Buddy Poppies will be distributed at Classic Rock Saturday, May 28. Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Auxiliary is trying to reach out to the county; therefore, if you own a business and would like someone to come there, please let me know. All proceeds are used strictly for veterans and families in need.
The Sonshine Sisters only had five attendees and I was able to go for a few hours to play. I sure did miss my friends and even just with two hours, it sure was uplifting.
Union Grove Baptist Church will host a monthlong VBS every Tuesday in June from 9 a.m. to 12:30 pm. The VBS theme this year is “Growing with God.” Children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade are invited. Each day there will be a Bible lesson, recre ation, music, crafts and snacks for the children. VBS will be held June 7, 14, 21, and 28 and children may attend any or all of these days.
