I pray everyone is doing well after the storm. We needed the rain, but the tornadoes are another story.

A community Easter Egg hunt will be hosted by 7D Ranch Outfitters, 2729, CR 305 in Navasota Saturday, Apr. 16, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The event is free to the public.

Congratulations to Ryan Rutledge on his appointment as Todd Mission Police Chief. May God’s protection be with you and your staff.

Navasota Farmer’s Market will be held Saturday, Apr. 9, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Navasota Public Library.

To all the people that came by, called, sent Facebook messages, talked to my children etc., in reference to road improvements in the Blackberry community thank you, but give all thanks to God. I was just the instrument or mouthpiece God used to help get the repairs done. He gave me favor and put the right people in place for everything to happen. The county has to pave 10 miles a year, so hopefully it won’t be long before all roads are paved with drainage ditches. I give God all the glory.

Plantersville Stoneham Volunteer Fire Department is looking for a few good women and men to be firefighters and first responders. They meet and offer trainings every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the station. Everyone is invited to attend. Applications are available.

The Millican-Heritage Barbecue Cookoff and Fundraiser is Apr. 1-2 at the Millican Community Center.

Grimes County Relay for Life is scheduled for Friday, April 8, from 6:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. at Navasota City Hall. This is the first Relay for Life event in two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mark your calendars and come walk a few laps to honor or remember someone you know that has battled cancer.

Twin Oaks Landfill in Carlos will be accepting household hazardous waste Saturday, April 23, from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.
