Richards Masonic Lodge Car Show Apr. 5
The monthly meetings of both area Masonic lodges are upcoming. Orphans Friend Masonic Lodge No 17 will meet Monday, Apr. 4, at their lodge hall in Anderson. The meeting will begin with a covered dish meal at 6:30 p.m. Bedias Masonic Lodge No 651 will meet Tuesday, April 5, beginning with a covered dish meal at 6:30 p.m. All masons are invited to attend.
Iola Food Pantry was held at Iola Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Saturday, March 19, with approximately 50 or more people or families receiving assistance. The pantry is open the third Saturday of each month. All who need a helping hand are invited to attend.
Richards Masonic Lodge will have their annual bike, car., truck and jeep show fundraiser at Yankee’s Tavern in Carlos Saturday, Apr. 9. All makes, models and years welcome. Registration is $20, and the event is open to the public. There will be food available, live music, a ruffle and more. Money raised goes toward the Richards High School Scholarship program.
All Christians and the entire community are invited to the annual Faster Sunrise Service at Zion Cemetery in Iola. The service will begin at 7 a.m. Breakfast will be served following the service at Zion Methodist Church in Iola. Make plans to attend and help celebrate the most important day ofthe Christian calendar.
There was a storm that blew through the area Monday evening, March 21, that gave some people a scare. Thankfully everyone is okay. There was a bam on FM 3090 that was damaged. Some people in Iola lost electricity and school was closed Tuesday, March 22. People and buildings in Madisonville suffered storm damage. The Sunshine Outreach Center that assists those in need was damaged. Do remember every victim of the storm in your prayers.
