White Hall News

The trip to Iowa Colony on Friday left me with white knuckles and stiff hands. The traffic was horrible, but the trip was worth it. Judy and Mike met Kacie, Rebecca and I for supper, then we headed towards that absolutely huge new high school stadium. I think that is the largest school stadium I have seen. Unfortunately, our Rattlers lost by one point in overtime. It was so sad. Chucky was excited that his aunt and uncle surprised him by coming to the game. The trip home had a lot less traffic and I let Kacie drive.

Please forgive my error regarding the date to vote. I mistakenly put Nov. 11 and I know why - Veterans Day. No excuse - just did. The correct date is Nov. 8. Thanks much.

Janis Frenzel and I sat at the library parking lot Oct. 18 for National Night Out. There were not many booths or community members, but we still had fun chatting with the Elks Lodge, American Legion, Sheriff’s deputies, librarian Tiffany, Boy Scout Troop 361 Scoutmaster and City patrolmen. We were there to represent the Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Auxiliary. Janis collected books and handed out 67 to youth, grandparents, Nehemiah Center and any who wanted them. She selected several books that little man might like, too.

Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Auxiliary had a lengthy meeting discussing projects that need to be completed. I can truly say that I never have to worry about having things to do.
