Bedias watermelon seed spitting champions

Examiner photo by Matthew Ybarra The city of Bedias hosted a huge celebration for Independence Day on July 4. The community was served free hotdogs with all the trimmings and free watermelon. Part of the festivities included an old-fashioned watermelon seed spitting contest. Winners pictured L-R: Brandon McClarnon first-place in adult division and Fabian Cox first-place youth division. Both winners took home a free watermelon. The night concluded with a fireworks display.
