•Shiro Baptist Church will hold ladies’ fellowship from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April

7. There will be fun, food, games and a Bible study.

April 14

•The Second Sunday Christian Movie Nights’ viewing of “Risen” will be Sunday, April 14. For more information, go to www.facebook.com/BediasChristianFilmFestival.

•The Coaxberry Baptist Church annual family and friends’ day will begin at noon Sunday, April 14. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Hubert Williams of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Whitehall. Come out and worship with the church and the Rev. Charles D. Byrd. Dinner will be served after the service.

•Trinity Lutheran Church will have Maundy Thursday worship service at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18.

April 19

•Union Grove Baptist Church will hold the annual Easter Program “Hallelujah He is Risen” on Good Friday, April 19.

•Trinity Lutheran Church will have Good Friday worship service at 7 p.m. Friday, April 19.

April 21

•Trinity Lutheran Church will have a SON Rise Worship Service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday. April 21. There will be an Easter breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and an Easter egg hunt and children’s activities at 8 a.m. A celebration worship service will be held at 9 a.m.

•The Shiro community churches will hold a sunrise service in the park beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 21. There will be overflow parking available at the Shiro Volunteer Fire Department with a convenience shuttle to the park running from 6:15 to 7 a.m. An Easter egg hunt will follow the service.

May 3

•There will be a Girls Night Out, an evening of encouragement, featuring New York Times best-selling author Melanie Shankle from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, at the First Baptist Church Navasota. Worship will be by Ashley Rush with a coffee bar and dessert to follow. Tickets are $20 per person or $15 per person for a group of 15 or more. June 5-7

•St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia is holding a revival 7 p.m. nightly Wednesday, June 5, through Friday, June 7. Contact Pastor Emery Berry at 713-377-2306 or Ever Johnson at 936-894-2094, for more information. The speaker for the revival is Bishop Charles E. Richardson of Calvary 1st Baptist Church in Corpus Christi.

•The Anderson Food Pantry has 2019 volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are needed from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month to unload food from the truck, move boxes, unpack boxes, stock shelves and prep bags.

The food pantry is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. the first Thursday of every month, except July due to a holiday. Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. to prep bags, stock shelves, check-in clients, carry out grocers, stock the Thread Shed, tear down boxes and cleanup.
