Tyler Mount becomes two-time Tony winner

Anderson columnist Gail Sowell has an award-winning celebrity in her family. Her cousin’s son, Tyler Mount, a 2008 graduate of Montgomery High School, recently made history by becoming the youngest two-time Tony Winner and Olivier Winner in theatrical history.

In recognition of co-producing the Broadway winning show for Best New Musical “Hadestown”, Mount earned his second Tony Award. Mount won his first Tony Award in 2018 for his production work on “Once on This Island” which won Best Revival of a Musical. Earlier in April of 2019, Mount also won an Olivier Award in London, England for his work on the Winner for Best New Play, “The Inheritance”. Mount is excited to announce that he will be instrumental in helping to bring “The Inheritance” to Broadway later this Fall.

Tyler is the co-creator and co-founder of the Marquee Channel, Broadway’s first free digital video network dedicated to providing the theatre community high quality, engaging content with the stars and shows currently on Broadway. Tyler is the Senior Manager of Digital Marketing at NBCUniversal, LLC and is responsible for overseeing the social media and marketing teams and NBCUniversal’s newest e-commerce start up. Tyler is the son of Gregory and Yvonne Mount of Montgomery and grandson of Linette “Tootsie” Mock of Dobbin.
