How many of you are enjoying the time change? Spring and summer are on their way.

•Thank you, Grimes County, for your support during the benefit for the Sunday, Jones and Tomkivits families.

•The 2019 Mid-South Synergy scholarship applications are due March 22. Mid-South Synergy awards numerous scholarships each year to area high school seniors. For applications and requirements, visit www.midsouthsynergy.com/scholarships.

•St Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia on FM 149 and FM 1488 is having an Outreach Program beginning at noon Saturday, March 30. There will be plenty for everyone to enjoy. Thanks in advance.

•The 42nd Plantersville-Stoneham VFD Bazaar and BBQ will be held April 7. A barbecue dinner will start at 11a.m. Tickets for raffles are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20.

•The election for mayor and five aldermen for the city of Plantersville will be May 4.

•St Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia is inviting all choirs, soloists and praise dancers to be a part of the gospel play, The Old Ship of Zion. Rehearsal for the play is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at the church. If you can’t make it to rehearsal, you can still be in the play at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 8. •St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia is inviting all Grimes County churches to a revival 7 p.m. nightly Wednesday, June 5, through Friday, June 7. •March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness month. This type of cancer is found in 90 percent of people older than 45.
