There were two baptized at Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church Sunday, May 26, by the church’ s pastor, Rev. Jeff Morgan. Those baptized are Billy Smith and Brandon Perez. They were accepted as members of the church. It certainly is good to have them. Both had family members present.

Robert Perez Sr. and Brandon Perez put in several hours of hard work Sunday, June 1, removing a cedar tree from Evergreen Cemetery that had been recently struck by lightning. The church certainly appreciated the hard work and volunteer hours by those two. Thanks to both.

Area residents were saddened to learn of the death of Rosie Lee Williams, 93 rom Keith. She passed away at her home May

30. She was born Oct. 27, 1925, in Durant, Oklahoma the daughter of William Allen and Mary Eller Grimmett Quarles. Her funeral service was held June 5, at Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Morgan officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery beside the grave of her husband Travis Williams. She is survived by daughter Paula Wells and two adopted children son Jason Williams and daughter Cindy Williams. She is also survived by grandchildren and other family members. Do remember them all in your prayers.

Several area residents and many others attended a birthday bash Sunday afternoon, June 2, near Bedias for Ray and Sherrie Magness. I would say there were approximately 100 family members present to wish them well. All sorts of food and barbecue were available as well as desserts. All present had a wonderful time. May God bless them and grant them many more birthdays.

The Orphan Friend’s Masonic Lodge No. 17 will have a garage sale at their lodge hall in Anderson, Saturday, June 15, beginning at 6:30 a.m. Lots of good usable items will be sold. Among the items being sold will be items from the old Keith store. Other items will be sold as well. Make plans to attend. Hope to see you there.

The Orphan’s Friend Masonic Lodge No. 17 membership meeting was held at the lodge in Anderson beginning with a meal and enjoyed by all in attendance. During the business meeting new lodge officers were elected. They will be installed at the next meeting, Monday, July 1.

The annual vacation bible school for Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church will begin Monday, June 17, and run through Thursday, June 20, from 6:30 p.m. till 8:15 p.m. The theme will be “Miraculous Mission,” All young children are welcome to attend.

Do hope your special day was a happy one.
