Fauth welcomes newest ADA

    Courtesy photo On Tuesday, Jan. 21 Grimes County Judge Joe Fauth III administered the oath of office to Grimes County’s newest assistant district attorney, Robin Whitney. Whitney brings approximately four years of experience as an ADA in Waller and Walker counties.

First Monday

• The Grimes County Republican Party meets at 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the Anderson Community Center, 415 Hill St. in Anderson.

Second Tuesday

• The Grimes County Democrats meet at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Progressive Outreach Center located at 615 W. Virginia St. in Navasota.

• The Grimes County Amateur Radio Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Navasota Center, 101 Stadium Drive, in Navasota. The club is open to all ages. • The Richards Township Association holds their monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Richards Fire Department.

• Grimes Health Resource Center is offering a free “Let’s Get Healthy” workshop every Friday beginning Jan. 31 – Feb. 28, 10:30 a.m. Fun exercises for all fitness levels, healthy eating on a budget, great tasting healthy snacks, prepared dishes and much more!

February 3

• The Grimes County Democratic Party invites all candidates running for office in Grimes County to come speak and enjoy a free dinner Monday, Feb. 3, 2020. Meet and greet is from 5:45- 6:15 p.m. and dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. For more information, please contact James Harris at 936-825-4846.

• The NHS Prom for Juniors & Seniors will be hosting a fundraiser February 3-14th to help pay for prom tickets, if anyone is interested in purchasing a tumbler. • The Navasota Garden Club will meet Thursday, February 5, 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, 309 Church St. in Navasota. • Grimes County Crime Stoppers is hosting a Mother – Son Dance Saturday, February 8, 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Community Center. Photo booth, DJ, Refreshments, door prize and more will be available. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5. Space is limited.

February 13

• Everyone is invited to attend a “Meet & Greet” at the Iola Community Center, Feb. 13, 6:30 p.m. for social time. Introductions will begin at 7 p.m. Coffee, tea, water and sandwiches will be available. For more information, please contact 936-435-4119.

• The Whitehall Community Volunteer Fire Department will hold their barbecue sandwich fundraiser beginning at 11 a.m. the first Saturday of each month.

Second Monday

• American Legion Mc-Cluskey Post 640 meets at 5 p.m. the second Monday of each month at 415 Hill St. in Anderson.

Third Tuesday

Third Friday

• State Representative District 13 Ben Leman will have mobile office hours from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. the third Friday of each month in Anderson. The office will be open in the Commissioner’s Courtroom in the courthouse annex at 114 W. Buffington Ave. in Anderson. District office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Capitol Extension Room E1.512 at 1100 Congress Ave.in Austin.
