A blowout caused a 23-year old driver to lose control of his vehicle on Texas State Highway 6 in Navasota Wednesday, July 7.

Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt stated at approximately 4:59 p.m., Christian Salazar, 23, of Tomball, was traveling southbound on Hwy. 6, north of the Farm-to-Market Road 3090 exit when his tire had a blowout.

Salazar lost control of the vehicle and entered the southbound median. His vehicle rolled and came to rest upside down on the Hwy. 6 feeder road. Salazar was ejected from the vehicle.

CHI St. Joseph Air Medic 12 transported Salazar to CHI St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. As of Monday, July 12, Myatt said Salazar remained hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
