Navasota, Texas - The Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce its annual golf tournament. The tournament, now in its 14th year, will take place Friday, Oct. 18 at Pecan Lakes Golf Course in Navasota. This annual fundraiser supports the Chamber in continuing to offer community and educational events, along with economic development resources to support the Grimes County communities.

The “Shoot for the Moon” day/night golf format carries on this year including dinner for the players and a helicopter golf ball drop that is open to anyone. Registration starts at $125 per golfer, which makes the annual golf tournament an affordable and fun opportunity to show off your short game while developing your network. “The helicopter golf ball drop that happens between 9-hole rounds has been hugely successful and popular for our area citizens,” says Johnny Mc-Nally, Executive Director of the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce. “It gives everyone a chance to participate, support our Chamber and its mission, and could even possibly win the participant $1,000.” At the end of 18 holes, players are treated to a late-night snack, raffle drawings and an awards ceremony.

The tournament benefits the Chamber of Commerce to help with its programming and operations expenses. Sponsorships are currently being accepted. Player information and links for the purchase of balls for the helicopter drop can be found at www.navasotagrimeschamber.com, or by calling the chamber office, 936-825-6600.
