Dozens of business and community leaders gathered this past week to participate in a membership awareness campaign for the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce. The three-day event was hosted by Jimmy Cusano of Your Chamber Connection.

Attendees gathered to learn more about the local chamber of commerce and to participate in a fun and competitive atmosphere that brought Chamber staff and volunteers together to create a positive outcome of membership growth.

“The membership event is so motivational. Our volunteers were so generous in contributing their valuable time to help ensure that our community will continue to thrive,” said Chamber Executive Director Johnny McNally.

The event resulted in many new memberships in the Chamber of Commerce. “Given our usual growth of 25 new members per year, hosting this event and having the results we achieved is amazing, particularly in a year of COVID. The added bonus was having so many participants, really a great cross-section of our community, who walked away with a new knowledge of what our Chamber of Commerce does.”

Event organizer Jimmy Cusano led the attendees through the event. “In past generations, our parents’ and our grandparents’ generations, building their Chamber of Commerce was an honor and privilege. They understood the importance of the local Chamber of Commerce and what they do for your community. People don’t think like that anymore.” Cusano then proceeded to lead the group through a fun, action-filled afternoon that culminated in each attendee tapping into their own various networks and encouraging them to be Chamber members.

Cusano continued, “The results come from the atmosphere of that room. It’s an education process that gets them excited. And then pride comes in. The pride of the Chamber and the pride of their community.”

By the end of the event, the Chamber of Commerce had added 25% growth to their membership.
