Grimes County history turns a corner Wednesday, Feb. 2 when county commissioners begin holding their meetings in the new Grimes County Justice and Business Center, 270 FM 149 West in Anderson.

The motion to set the date was made and unanimously approved in a Regular Meeting, Wednesday, Jan. 5, one of the last meetings to be held at the decades-old Anderson Annex.

County Judge Joe Fauth said, “Based on the moving schedule, I’m giving notice that we’ll have one more Commissioners Court at this location, but starting Feb. 2, the meeting will be at the new facility on 149.”

Where do I go?

Referring to confusion about where various departments are presently located, Fauth said, “There will be some back-and-forth until everybody gets officially relocated.”

It was noted that the Tax Assessor-Collector’s office will remain in the Annex at least through the end of January and possibly a short time into February.

Note: County departmental telephone numbers remain the same. Those having County business might consider calling beforehand.
