The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance to locate three fugitives who are wanted in connection with a vicious kidnapping and aggravated assault May 21.

Authorities have active warrants and are searching for Carl Ray Holmes Jr, 22, of Bryan, Sabastian Portales, 21, of Bryan and Marlon Demon Turner. All three suspects have ties to Iola, College Station, Bryan, Madisonville and the Houston area and are considered extremely dangerous.

If you know of their whereabouts or encounter one of the suspects you are urged to not approach them and contact 911, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, 936-873-2151, local law enforcement or Grimes County Crime Stoppers, 936-873-2000 with an anonymous tip. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The active investigation stems from an incident in Iola where officers were dispatched to the 12000 Block of South Fork Lane to investigate a physical altercation involving multiple individuals.

According to witnesses the victim was brought to the pasture and beaten intensely with firearms and at one point a knife was placed to his throat and his life threatened. The victim was said to have been stripped of his clothing and forcibly placed into a vehicle and transported from the scene.

One of the suspects stated the attack stemmed from an incident in which the victim allegedly burglarized his home in College Station a week prior.

The victim was identified and located by College Station Police who stated he suffered extensive head injuries.

Four suspects were subsequently arrested and charged in the incident but were later released on bond.
