Don Conlee Jr., 41, of Navasota, is the latest fatality on Texas State Highway 105 east that has become increasingly dangerous over the past couple of months.

Sargent Jimmy Morgan of Texas Department of Public Safety stated that a little after 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, A 1998 Freightliner, driven by Jason Brown of Conroe, was pulling a Lufkin semi tractor-trailer and attempted to make a U-turn from the eastbound lane of Hwy. 105. The trailer stalled blocking both lanes of the highway.

Morgan said a 2016, two-door Subaru, driven by the victim Conlee, struck the trailer in the eastbound lane while traveling at speeds greater than the posted speed limit.

Justice of the peace Mark Laughlin pronounced Conlee deceased on scene. Neither Brown, the driver of the tractor-trailer, nor his passenger were injured during the wreck.

Morgan stated the investigation is ongoing and no citations have been issued.
