District 12 State Representative Kyle Kacal stopped in Navasota Wednesday, April 20, for a “meet & greet” at Classic Rock. Kacal discussed the upcoming election and the SB 2222.

Operation Safe Shield is a non-profit charitable organization which recently raised funds to equip law enforcement vehicles in Bryan-College Station with life-saving bullet resistant windows following the passage of SB 2222. This legislation, sponsored by Kacal, requires bullet-resistant windshields be installed in all Texas Department of Public Safety troopers’ vehicles.

Operation Safe Shield plans to extend its community fundraising efforts outside of Brazos County in hopes of equipping all law enforcement in the Brazos Valley with bullet resistant windshields. The cost to do so, at $8,000 per windshield, will be approximately $1.5 million.
