Open Call for actors at Navasota Theatre:

Auditions for “Majorie Prime” by Jordan Harrison will be held at the Navasota Theatre Alliance Sunny Fur-man Theatre Sunday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. Produced by the Navasota Theatre Alliance, director Evleen Nasir, seeks actors/actresses, along with stage crew and supporting stagehands. This live theatre production runs from March 27 through March 29.

In Majorie Prime, it’s the age of artificial intelligence, and 85-year-old Marjorie — a jumble of disparate, fading memories — has a handsome new companion who’s programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. What would we remember, and what would we forget, if given a chance? In this richly spare, wondrous new play, Jordan Harrison explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits — if any — of what technology can replace.

This show is part of NTA’s new series called Blackbox shows. The proceeds of these Blackbox shows will be donated to an organization in our community and admission will be free of charge/give-what-you-can.

For more information about the auditions, character descriptions, and play run dates, visit www.navasotatheatre.org or call 936-825-3195. The Navasota Theatre Alliance is a non-profit 501(c)3 and is located at 104 W. Washington Ave., Navasota.
