National Police Week 2019

Examiner photo Each year a week is set aside in May to pay respect to police officers worldwide for selflessly risking their lives in the line of duty to protect citizens. Officers enforce laws to ensure the safety of civilians and often go above and beyond the call of duty working long hours and spending time away from their loved ones. On May 15, Peace Officers Memorial Day is celebrated throughout the nation paying tribute to officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in the line of duty. Remember to thank an officer for their service and countless hours they spend keeping the town safe.
