NPD collects on fraudulent loan

Navasota Police Officers arrested Laurie Paull, 59, of Navasota for over $75,000 in theft from Credit Loans in Navasota.

Law enforcement stated they were contacted by management of Credit Loans, 218 West Washington Avenue in Navasota to investigate missing funds.

Management told investigators they noticed missing funds from 2012 through 2018 and discovered that many fake accounts had been created.

Total theft was estimated at $75,000 over a six-year period. Officers stated Paull confessed to the theft of the money and creating fraudulent loans and said she used the money for personal expenses.

Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Paull on Sept. 3, and she was arrested and booked into the Grimes County Jail. She is charged with Theft greater than $30,000 but less than $149,000, a third-degree felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison.
