Despite being in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, Cancer is still at the forefront of concern for many that are battling the horrific disease or are grieving a loved one.
Grimes County Relay for Life is ensuring everyone is aware that Cancer hasn’t taken a backseat to COVID-19 and many remain in need of monetary and emotional support and the world is still in dire need of a cure.
In lieu of the traditional Relay for Life event, a Luminaria Walk will be held Thursday, April 15, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Navasota High School parking lot. The walk is to remember all those who have passed and remind the community to continue fighting for a cure.
All Grimes County residents are welcomed to take a moment to remember those that have lost their battle with cancer, along with survivors and those in the midst of the battle.
Luminaria bags may be purchased for $5 to honor a family member or friend. Bags must be purchased by Saturday, April 10. Checks should be made out to American Cancer Society and mailed to Kay Harris, 202 Leon Street Navasota, TX 77868 or call 936- 870-5063. You may also call or text, Trisha Harris, 936-870-5390 for more information or to purchase Luminaria bags. Bags will include the name of the person to be honored.
