Betty Joyce (Berry) Nigliazzo, 84, of Bryan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 27, 2019. A small memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Hillier Funeral Home of College Station, 4080 S. Hwy 6, College Station, TX 77845 with Pastor Zack Nigliazzo officiating.

Betty was born on July 21, 1934 to parents Benjamin Franklin Berry and Annie Matlida (Brookshire) Berry in Lufkin, Texas. Betty grew up and graduated high school in Lufkin. After several years of working, she met Joe, who was quickly smitten with her, and together they would share 56 years of marriage before Joe’s passing in 2015. Joe and Betty were blessed to have two sons (identical twins) who would be Betty’s focus and joy in life. Betty was ever the loving and sacrificial wife and mother to her family and a dear and loyal friend to many others. She was an avid gardener, a talented painter, an affectionate pet owner, and a very good cook. She taught her sons how to fish and love sports, but most of all she taught them how to serve others with kindness and hospitality. Betty will always be remembered for her selflessness and how she put others before herself.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 56 years Joseph Nigliazzo, and her brother Bennie Berry.

Betty leaves behind her sons, Mike and wife Sarah, and Zack and wife Kathryn; grandchildren, Noah, Addy, Audrey, Emma, Miles and Helen; nieces, Linda, Jane, Betty.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Traditions Hospice in Betty’s name.
