Elois Rosa Lee Neinast Glover, age 97, was born in the community of Long Point in Burton, TX on July 5, 1925 and died on July 5, 2022 in Brenham, TX. She grew up on the family farm, was confirmed at St Paul’s Lutheran Church of Rehburg, and graduated from Somerville High School in 1943.

After completing high school, Elois moved to Houston and resided at Mrs. Holden’s Rooming House while attending Durham Business School. After completing business school, she accepted a position at Manchester Terminal as a secretary. During this time, Elois came to know a young soldier, James R. Glover from Spring Hope, NC. Much of their courtship occurred through correspondence during WWII, they married in July 1945 and Elois joined him in Durham, NC in November. While in Norfolk they welcomed their son James E. into the world.

The family moved to Navasota in 1954 where Elois worked for the Chamber of Commerce for 15 years., The Resident Engineers Office of the Highway Department for 3 years and the First National Bank (later Wells Fargo Bank) for 29 years. On the weekends Elois could often be found working in the office of the Navasota Cattle Auction. She retired in March 2003 and returned to the family farm shortly thereafter.

Elois is preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Edwin and Lorna (Wilkening) Neinast; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Ruth Neinast; sister and brother-in-law, LaVerda and Claude Ebel; and sister, Carolyn Neinast.

Elois is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Peggy Glover of League City, TX; grandson and wife, Michael and Irma Glover of Houston, Tx; granddaughter and husband, Melissa and Josh Tanksley of League City, TX. Her great-grandchildren include Madelyn Glover, Peyton Tanksley and Ethan Tanksley.

Visitation for Elois was 7:00 am. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Rehburg with Pastor Alvin Luedke officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
