Eugene Milton “Sonny” Bright 1936 – 2023

Mr. Eugene Milton “Sonny” Bright, 86, of Navasota, Texas, passed away

Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at CHI St. Joseph Health Hospital in College Station,

Texas. Services were held on Saturday, February 18 at St. Holland Baptist Church.

Arrangements were under the direction of All Families Mortuary, Hearne, Texas.

On August 1, 1936, a baby boy was born to V Ella Smart and Eugene Bright, whom

they named Eugene Milton Bright. He was born and raised in Navasota, Texas.

He confessed Christ at an early age. He was a member of St. Holland Baptist Church

for many years and was currently a member of Fountain of Faith Baptist Church.

He went to be with his heavenly father on February 15, 2023. He was preceded in death

by his loving wife of 57 years Verdine “Dean” Bright; his parents, V Ella and Eugene

Bright; brothers Eugene Bright Jr., and Bobbie Joe Bright.

He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Maryland Denise Mitchell and

husband B.B., Darlene Moore and husband Jody; son Roy Bright and wife Marilyn; four

grandchildren Courtney Williams, Craig “Boogie” Love and wife Julie, Justin Bright,

Monica “Princess” Roese and husband Chase; two great grandchildren M’kyhan

Williams and Trasyn Roese.

He also leaves to cherish his memories three loving sisters, Doris “Sister” Hester, Eula

“Dump” West, and Sarah Day and husband Charles; and a loving sister-in-law Lois

Kinney. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends to cherish his memory.
