JAMES ABSHIRE, SR. 1943 – 2023

Mr. James Abshire, Sr., 80, of Plantersville, TX, passed away Monday, March 13. Visitation with family and friends will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stoneham, TX with funeral service immediately following at 3 p.m., with Rev. Ed Kucera officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stoneham. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

James was born in Kaplan, Louisiana on February 7, 1943, to Willard and Loris (Trahan) Abshire. He attended and graduated St. Pius High School. He later met and married Linda. To this union three children were nurtured: James Jr., Jessee, and Tonia.

He was known for restoring antique vehicles. James enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. 

James is preceded in death by both his parents, Willard and Loris; sister, Cecilia Mary Abshire; brother, Daniel James Abshire; and Ellen Cherry.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Linda; children, James Abshire, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, Jessee Bankston, and Tonia Sackman; brothers, Blaine Abshire and his wife, Karen, Billy Abshire and his wife, Cindy, Danny Abshire and his wife, Rose; sisters, Norma Fick, and Donna Abshire and her husband, Joel; grandchildren, Joseph Sackman and his wife, Racheal, Tyler Sackman, Shelby Abshire, and Caden Lee Abshire; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
