Joyce Faye Tillery, 74, of College Station, went to be with the Lord, Monday, July 15, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life is set for 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, at Hillier Funeral Home in College Station. Inurnment will be in the Houston National Cemetery where she will be placed with her late husband Charles Douglas Tillery.

Joyce was born December 21, 1944 in Jasper, TX to Charlie Henry Turner and Annie Mae Eaker. At 12, she was adopted by Gerald and Polly Gilbert. Joyce graduated from Jasper High School and furthered her education in nursing. Faithfully, she served beside her husband, Doug, for 48 years, 27 of that as a military spouse. Joyce spent most of her time caring for her children and others’ children in her home, as well as nurseries and daycares. She was an avid volunteer for Baylor Scott and White Hospital rocking the newborn babies. Known by friends and family as Momo, Joyce treated anyone she met like family. She was a prayer warrior and was faithful to pray for anyone and everyone.

Joyce is survived by her children and their families, Gerald Douglas Tillery of College Station, Connie Sue Poehl of Lyons, Charlie Noel Tillery and Barbie Louise Wisdom, both of College Station; her brothers Charlie, Danny, Ronnie, Tommy, Jerry, Bobby, and sisters Myrtle, Johnnie Mae, and Connie; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
