Jule Marie Pecoraro, 91, of Navasota, formerly of Keith, died Saturday morning, March 16, 2019, at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital in Bryan.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Baptist Church in Keith, followed by a celebration of her life at 1 p.m. with Dennis Messerly, Blane Trant and John Ray Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. A lunch will be served in the fellowship hall to family and friends before the services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home of Navasota.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle McKnight, Ryan Smith, Dalton Messerly, Blane Trant, James Dixon and Jeff Morgan.

Jule was born Aug. 2, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Jules Lucian and Estell Francis Seller Proskine. She had been a much loved resident of Golden Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Navasota for the past two years. Previously, she had lived in Keith since 1980, having moved there from Houston. Jule loved to quilt and stitch and would never be without something in her hands to stitch. She had been a long-time faithful member of Evergreen Baptist Church.

Jule was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Marycatherine Frances Proskine.

Survivors include a son, Jon Karl Proskine; a sister, Mary Jane Barr of Tempe, Arizona; step-grandchildren, Charla, Libby and Mary; and her “adopted” children, John Ray Maxwell and Brenda and Dennis Messerly, who loved and cared for her.

In lieu of usual remembrances, it was Jule’s wishes for memorials be given to Evergreen Cemetery Fund.
