Lucille Powell, 79, of Navasota, passed away Wednesday, June 8, at CHI St. Joseph Hospital in College Station. A celebration of her life will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at Faith Outreach Christian Center with Pastor Henry Sanders presiding. Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Lucille was born in Navasota, Texas on February 4, 1943 to Ernest and Hazel (Sills) Brewer. She graduated from Navasota High School and married Charles Powell. To gether they had six children. Lucille loved all children, and throughout her life worked as a childcare provider. She loved doing various crafts, visits from her grandbabies, the color red and jewelry. The beach was her happy place, and the sound of the surf was music to her soul.

Lucille is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Timmy and Jackie Brewer and Charlie and Diane Powell; daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Steven Dotson, Nicole and William Hegemeyer and Don Wayne Roese; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Raul Lozano, Jr., Gary Raper, James Nobles, Kenneth Nobles, Bradley Wehmeyer, Luke Castillo, Michael Boyer and Dennis Brisbon. Don Wayne Roese is named as Honorary Bearer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Powell; son Peter Powell; daughter Teresa Roese and granddaughter Tanya Brooke Roese.
