Mitzi Croye Pate, 59, of League City, passed away at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston March 4, 2020 following a 20-year battle with various illnesses including cancer.

Mitzi was born April 22, 1960 to Al and Peggy Croye, in Roanoke, Virginia.

A memorial service will take place at The Watershed Church, 1751 East League City Parkway, in League City, Sunday, March 15, at 2:45 p.m., with Pastor Billy Watson officiating. A burial service will take place later at the Sherwood Memorial Cemetery, 1250 E. Main Street Salem, Virginia. She will be laid to rest next to her mother’s grave.

Mitzi graduated from Sam Houston State University with honors and enjoyed her job as a homemaker and tending to the family farm. She was active at The Watershed Church in League City where she taught Sunday School. Mitzi and her family also enjoyed camping and boating.

She leaves behind her husband James Lawrence “Larry” Pate of League City, whom she married in 1981, son Wesley Pate of College Station, a daughter Janna and her life partner Amanda of Galveston.

Mitzi also left behind her father Al Croye, of Navasota; a brother Mark Allen Croye and his wife Kay, of Roanoke, Virginia; and their son and daughter Shane and Brianna; nephews Adam and John Pate; mother-in-law Gradellene Pate, of Huntsville, and Aunt and Uncle Ida and Larry Conner of Roanoke, Virginia and countless other family members and friends.

She is proceeded in death by her mother Peggy Croye; father-in-law Bob Pate; grandparents John and Eddy Croye; grandparents Kennis and Eulla Elswick; and Aunt Jo Cox.
