Patricia “Trudy” Ann Smith, 65, of Houston, formerly of Plantersville, died Saturday evening at Interim Care North Hospital in Houston.

Due to recent concerns surrounding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak and the recommendations by the CDC regarding the limit of any public gathering to 10 or less people and the practice of social distancing, a private rite of committal for the immediately family will be held Wednesday, March 25, in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery with Rev. Edward C. Kucera, Jr. presiding. A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will be planned by the family and announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home.

Trudy was born Wednesday, June 2, 1954 in Navasota to John Paul and Alma Lee Wetuski Smith. She grew up in Plantersville and graduated from Navasota High School in 1975. She will be remembered for loving smile to everyone she met. A lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Trudy has been living in an assisted living facility for a number of years in the Houston area. She was preceded in death by her father, John Smith.

Survivors include her mother, Alma Smith, sisters, Frances Smith Davis and Jeannette Smith Raines and husband Chuck, all of Plantersville; nieces and nephews, Josh, Cody and John Raines and Neil and Amanda Marek and numerous other relatives and friends.
