Looking forward to tomorrow, Thursday, July 4, the Bedias Civic Club is planning a big Independence Day celebration, including free hotdogs with all the trimmings and watermelon until we run out. We will have our fireworks show starting at dark. Please join us and bring your family and friends.

Doubling Entendre Art regrets to inform the community that the first Bedias art exhibition, “Wit and Wisdom” has closed as of Saturday, June 22, due to unforeseen circumstances.

Although the show’s run is cut short, we are proud of its brief run and extremely successful opening night. We are most grateful to everyone who came out and supported the local arts and artists. The second annual art exhibition will begin calling for artists in Grimes and surrounding counties beginning February 2020. Whether your art medium is photography, painting, sculpture or mixed, we look forward to all entries for next year’s show. For information to future participating artists, watch for fliers in February and again there will be no entry fees.

In the meantime, if you wish to discuss or view art or even take art lessons, you can get in touch with Missi Love Fox, Doubling Entendre Art, 19534 Megan St., Bedias, Texas 77831. For more information email doubling entendre@gmail.com or call

Wednesday, July 10, the Grimes County Health Resource Center will host a Senior Health and Activity Day, featuring bingo, lunch and a guest speaker. Call 936-870-4575, by July 3, to reserve your spot, and to learn more about Health Resource Center services and programs.
